Hartcliffe City Farm is a community farm in one of the most deprived areas of Bristol. The grant from the Sirona Foundation will fund wellbeing groups every Wednesday for local people who are referred because they are experiencing mental ill health, poor physical health, and social isolation. Participants will join the project as ‘volunteers’, to give them a sense of inclusion and self-worth. Weekly group sessions will be held on a Wednesday and will be led by a sessional Cooking Group Coordinator. The sessions will offer basic growing techniques, harvesting and how to cook a simple, healthy meal using fresh ingredients. At the end of each session, there will be a shared healthy meal for everyone volunteering at the Farm that day.
