The first year of the Tortworth Arboretum, Woodland Wellbeing project, is proving to have positive impact on the health and wellbeing of participants and volunteers. Experience of being in the woodland and close to nature, while in the company of friendly people, has a profound affect on relaxation. The project has seen reduction in anxiety, increased self-confidence and people being enabled to mix socially. For many, their day at Tortworth is the only opportunity they have to meet with other people and make important connections. The project team report, they cannot understate the powerful, often life-changing impact, Torworth Arboretum has on health and wellbeing. We look forward to discovering what happens in next year, the second stage of the project.
